Penny Woods

Penny Woods, 61, of Leo, IN passed away on June 9th, 2022. She was born on July 7th, 1960, to Robert and Shirley Bernardin. She was married to Paul Woods Jr. for 43 years; together they created a loving family with their five children and eighteen grandchildren.

Penny enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them play sports. In addition, she liked planning family vacations to Disney. She welcomed everyone with open arms and treated everyone with kindness and love. She worked twenty years at Cracker Barrel and four years at Messiah Lutheran Preschool where she touched and brightened the lives of everyone she worked with and met. Penny was not just a mother and a grandmother to her family, but was the mother and grandmother (Momma Woods) of Leo, IN.

She is survived by her husband Paul Woods Jr.; son Paul (Jessica) Woods III, daughter Stephanie (Kevin) Munro, son Jeremy (Katy) Woods, son Justin (Samantha) Woods, son Nicolas Sr. (Amanda) Woods, and her seventeen grandchildren: Anna, Paul IV, Candace, Michael, Eliza, and Brooke (Woods). Kevin III (BK), Alivia, and Stephen (Munro). Hunter, Peyton, and Parker (Woods). Sarah (Woods). Nicolas Jr., Owen, Connor, and Aiden (Woods). She is also survived by her mother Shirley Bernardin, brother Leroy Bernardin, sister Kim Bernardin, brother Tim Bernardin, brother Kenny (Jamie) Bernardin, sister Lori (Ed) Black, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Barnardin, brother Steven Bernardin, and grandson Brantley Woods.

A visitation service will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 3pm-5pm & 7pm-9pm at Midwest Funeral Home & Cremation Society, 1415 W. Coliseum Blvd, Fort Wayne Indiana 46808. A Committal Service will be held at Midwest Funeral Home Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11am followed by burial at Covington Cemetery.
