Paul David Carkenord

Rev. Paul David Carkenord, 86, died on November 16,2022, believing in the Resurrection from the dead. He was born the son of Reuben and Frances Carkenord and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is survived by his nieces Gail, Sue and Barbara and his nephews David and Jimmy, who reside out of state. During his 60+ years as a priest, Father Dave served the parishoners at Saint Henry Parish, Queen of Angels Parish and Saint Andrew Parish, all in Fort Wayne. He also served at Saint Vincent De Paul Parish in Elkhart, Indiana and at Saint Michael the Archangel Parish in Waterloo, Indiana. At Father Dave’s specific request, there will be no calling or visitation and no funeral service at this time. Celebration of a memorial mass will take place at a future date and location to be announced. Father Dave will be buried next to his parents at the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne. Bishop Kevin Rhoades will be celebrating a memorial mass at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 1098 County Road 39, Waterloo, IN on December 13th at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at the Catholic Cemetery, Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN. And, if you can believe it and in true “Father Dave style”, he is paying for it!!
