Patricia (Higley) Welch

Patricia (Trish) A Welch, 52 of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away, or as we say in The Salvation Army, was promoted to glory on June 29, 2022 after battling ALS for several years. She was born October 10, 1969 to Jimmy and Ann Higley on an army base in Wurzburg, Germany. She grew up in Golden, IL and went to college at Illinois College in Jacksonville IL. She married William (Bill) Welch her senior year of college. She started working at The Salvation Army after college and entered the seminary for The Salvation Army in 1994. She graduated from the seminary in 1996 and has worked as a minister for The Salvation Army for the past 26 years together with her husband. She loved sharing Jesus with everyone she met through her actions and words, hiking, seeing waterfalls, camping, traveling and spending time with her family. The past 2 ½ years she really enjoyed spending time with her grandson. Some of her memorable vacations were going to Turkey, Greece, Israel, Rome, Canada, Mexico, Grand Cayman and several US states. Trish is survived by her husband Bill Welch, daughter Samantha (Nick) Wolfe, daughter Mykayla Welch, father Jimmy Higley, mother Ann Higley, sister Deb (Rob) Sowden, brother Mike (Nicki) Higley, niece Meghan Snowden, nephew Chase Higley, niece Abby Higley, grandson Michael Wolfe, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Please make donations to The Salvation Army Fort Wayne, IN or the ALS Association in lieu of flowers. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday July 9th , 2022 at The Salvation Army, 2901 N Clinton St, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with lunch and a time of remembrance following to celebrate the life of Trish
