Marjorie H (Schmeding) Johnson

Marjorie H. (Schmeding) Johnson, 89, of Fort Wayne died October 10, 2023, at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born February 4, 1934, in Fort Wayne to the late Theo and Mabel (Long) Schmeding.

Marjorie married Robert E. Johnson on September 10, 1955, in Fort Wayne. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2014, after 59 years of marriage.

She worked part-time for her parents Ted and Mable Schmeding in their downtown Fort Wayne restaurant from 1950-1952. Graduated from Southside High School in 1952, after high school she graduated from International Business College with Associates Degree in 1954. She was Executive Assistant for Sears Warehouse in Fort Wayne from 1964-1975. Worked with her husband Robert at Johnson Trailer Sales from 1975-1990’s. Member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Ossian. Former member Faith Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a daughter Ginger J. Shoenherr; son Michael R. Johnson; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a daughter Teresa E. Hormann, granddaughter Jessica Autumn Schoenherr and two brothers Richard and Robert Schmeding.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m., Monday, October 16, 2023, at New Hope Lutheran Church 8824 N. State Road 1, Ossian, IN 46777, with viewing three hours prior to service.
