Kevin Templar Obituary

Kevin Templar, 36, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away peacefully in his home on February  25, 2024. He was born March 19, 1987 in Fort Wayne to parents Diane and Arthur Templar. Kevin graduated from Homestead High School spending his days in mischief & video games, falling in love, playing the Baritone in the marching band, and, generally, forming bonds that stayed with him his entire life. He went on to Purdue University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Mechanical Engineering.

Kevin moved back to Fort Wayne where he leveraged his degree to develop and build microcontrollers for the trucking and distribution industry. He was an avid reader, notably in the genres of science fiction and fantasy. Following in his father’s footsteps, Kevin was a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and, later, all things NFL. Kevin, always the lover of animals, adopted two terriers, Bleu and Carlin, which he cared for as his children as well as supported various wildlife efforts in Africa with a special love for elephant preservation.

An avid traveler he didn’t know he was, Kevin ventured to the likes of Florence, Italy to see the beautiful sculptures and paintings, Munich, Germany for the carnival of Oktoberfest, and the coastal cities of Dubruvnic and Split, Croatia to relive the world of Game of Thrones. A golden heart with a rebel fist, he was a vehement Democrat and proponent for local community politics supporting, advocating, and allying for LGBTQIA+ rights.

Kevin is survived by his parents Diane and Arthur; his brother Craig and wife Sabrina Templar; their children Logan and Leah Templar; devoted Aunts Connie Floyd and Karen Archer; and chosen family Brennon York, Jacob Patterson, and Scott and Meg Underwood. He was surrounded by love in his final days and, he left this world with his heart full, to a better place, a better time.
