Kelly O’Brien, age 91, of Fort Wayne passed away Saturday January 14, 2023 in his home in Fort Wayne. He was born May 11, 1931 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky to Kelly O’Brien and Daisy (Call) O’Brien. He honorably served his country in the medical unit in the United States Airforce during the Korean War. Kelly was a retired business owner. He owned and operated the Hideway in Bluffton for several years before owning and operating his own car dealership for over 20 years. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed poker and going to the casino. He was an eccentric story-teller and gave advice when asked or helped those who needed it.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Kelly O’Brien, mother; Daisy (Call) O’Brien, daughter, Kelli, and brothers Robert O’Brien and the Corporal George O’Brien. He is survived by his wife Mary Jane of Fort Wayne and their children, son; George O’Brien of Fort Wayne, daughter; Bobbi O’Brien of Fort Wayne, daughter; Jami Jewel of Fort Wayne, daughter; Jacki O’Brien of Fort Wayne, daughter; Terri O’Brien of Fort Wayne, and seven grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
No funeral service will be held. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
