Jeremy Clayton Greene (Campbell), age 47 of Fort Wayne, Indiana, departed this life on Saturday, January 6, 2024. He was born on Easter Sunday, April 18, 1976, to Mary Jo Baer (Greene) and Cecil Clayton Campbell at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Indiana.
He was baptized on Dec 13, 1981 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Wayne, IN Jeremy had an active life full of various sports activities. He participated in soccer, football, and wrestling in his youth. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Kekionga Middle School, and Elmhurst High School. The journey of life transformed him into a genuine free Spirit, a jack of all trades, a true renaissance man. He became a member of the Laborers Union in Fort Wayne specializing as a millwright (concrete expert). He tore down and replaced roofs. He was involved in historic building restoration and aided in the disaster relief for Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans in 2005.
Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing with his father in the Maumee River and Salmon fishing in Canada. He enjoyed boating, camping, canoeing, hiking, hunting and swimming. He just loved being in the great outdoors. He could field dress a deer. He loved riding motorcycles, and bicycling. He lifted weights, repaired cars and motorcycles. As an artist he blew glass into beautiful pieces of art. He also worked with metals and wood. Jeremy’s dream was to have his own landscape business.
Throughout Jeremy’s life he was an avid reader who knew the Word of God! He was baptized again in 2016 as a Protestant. He knew no strangers. He would give the shirt off his back to help another person. Towards the end of his life, he made his home with Rolonda and his son Michael Wells in Fort Wayne. He homeschooled his son Michael and was a great cook and
gardener. Jeremy and Rolonda planned to be married in April 2024 at Center Lake in Warsaw, Indiana, and care for his children.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Mary Jo Baer (Greene). Sister Amy E. (Greene) Reyna, brother George A. Baer, “brother” Jimmy Joe Campbell, stepbrother Sean Baer and stepsister Jennifer (Baer) Sanford, Daughters Madison and Molly Jo Greene. Son, Michael Clayton Wells. His fiancée and friend for 33 years Rolonda L. Wells. Honorary Mother since he was 4 years old, Jacqueline Taylor-Scott. Aunt Sara J. Kimmel and Uncle Skeet K. Kimmel. Aunt Sara Campbell, Uncle Michael Campbell, Uncle Jack Campbell. Nieces, Mercedes (Mark)Tompkins, Jasmine and Maria Reyna. Two great nieces, Vera and Amelia Tompkins. Along with several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather George Harley Green and grandmother Mary Elizabeth (Robinson) Green. Grandfather Kenneth and grandmother Betty Campbell. Father, Cecil Clayton Campbell, Uncle George H. Green, Jr. Aunts Paula and Kelly Campbell. Cousin, Michelle Bowman.
