George S. Van Kirk, 74, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, April 23rd, 2023. He was born on December 23rd, 1948, to Theodore Van Kirk & Carol (Eads) Miller. George was born in Denver, Colorado. His dad was in the Army-Air Corp so George moved around a lot as a child, finally settling in South Bend, Indiana. After High school, George enlisted in the Army for 4 years and has continued to support and be a member of the VA till his death. George worked as a union carpenter for United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America until retirement. George enjoyed playing and listening to the Blues. He enjoyed going to the YMCA, most of all he enjoyed spending time with his daughters and grandson.
George is survived by his 2 daughters; Stephannie (Van Kirk) Lowell of Maine, and Heather Van Kirk of Elkhart, IN. Sister; Cheryl (Van Kirk) Jolly of South Bend, IN. Grandson Brady Van Kirk 1 Niece and 3 Nephews included. He was preceded in death by his Dad; Theodore Van Kirk, his Mom; Carol (Eads) Miller, and his brother; Rodney Van Kirk.
At Dad’s request he will be cremated at Midwest Funeral Home & Cremation Society of Fort Wayne, IN. A private viewing for his daughters and grandson was held on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023.
