Douglas Edward Patten

Douglas Edward Patten, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, April 30th, with his family by his side after a hard fought battle with Parkinson's Disease and cancer. Doug was born January 27,1962, to Raymond (Butch) Patten and Catherine (Leach) Patten. 

Doug worked as a maintenance Millwright most of his life and spent his free time with family or friends. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and rode all the way to California, Maine, and everywhere in between and made many friends riding. He enjoyed spending time at the lake with his family and friends on a boat, a kayak, a fishing pier, or at the Blue Lake Campground where he parked his camper for the last couple of years.

Doug was a man of few words but he always had the perfect one liner to make everyone laugh. He loved watching his kids play sports growing up and being able to watch his grandson play baseball. He enjoyed golfing in his spare time and knew his way around a pool table and dart board in his younger years. He was also the proud Treasurer of the Wild Turkey Club in the 80’s. 

He is survived by his wife, Laurie Patten, daughters Brandy Burkhart (Patten) and Tabitha Patten, grandson Connor Burkhart, granddaughter Brooklynn Burkhart, sisters Kandace Patten of Churubusco, Linda Patten of Columbia City, and Tamara Patten of Columbia City, and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his father Raymond (Butch) Patten and his mother Catherine Patten.
