Donald J Barman, 77 went to his eternal home, while in the arms on his loving wife Scheryl on Thursday July 21, 2022 at the VA medical center in Fort Wayne. Born in Marion Indiana on December 11 1944, to Donald L Barman and Lola (née Dehart) Barman. Don attended Northside High School, and afterwards proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, during the Vietnam War. Don retired from Lutheran Hospital after 35 years as a lead cook on 3rd shift. He was a proud member of High Hopes Clowns with his persona of “Hairy Merry”. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Scheryl, sons, Travis and Austin (Katrina), and daughter Stacy, grandson Ethan. He is also survived by brothers Mike (Becky), of Fort Wayne, Robert of Pennsylvania, and John of California, brother in law Duff (Sharon) Lefevra of Fort Wayne, and sisters in laws Roberta Lefevra of Fort Wayne and Kathy Payton of Virginia Beach Virginia, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents and a sister Sherri. Visitation will be at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church 1636 St Mary’s Ave. on Tuesday July 26, 2022 from 5pm-7pm, and on Wednesday from 11am-12pm with service following. Committal Service held at Greenlawn Cemetery immediately following service. Preferred memorials to the family to help with funeral cost.
