Obituary

Connie Bucher, 65, of Butler, IN, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023. Connie was born to Carl and Betty Bucher on July 28th, 1958. She graduated from New Haven High School, where she met the love of her life, Steven, and they were married for 43 years. She worked at Superior Essex for 45 years. Connie had such an excitement for life and new experiences. She was best known for her bubbly personality and kindness, as well as her love for cats, crafts, and shopping! Her hobbies included sewing, card making, beading, and crocheting among several others. The quality time she spent teaching her family these artistic skills will carry on as her legacy.

Connie was preceded in death by her dear husband, Steven Bak, in 2020. Her surviving family includes her nephew Michael (Carmen) Smith, great-niece Sophia (Scott) Gillum, and brother-in-law Lawrence (Pam) Bak. The last chapter of her life was filled with wonderful people from Promedica/Heartland Hospice, including her best friend, Maggi.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Connie and Steve on Friday, October 6th, 2023 at Lakeside Park located at 1401 Lake Ave & Vermont in Pavillion 1, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please offer any generous donations to Humane Fort Wayne to help sheltered cats.
